Passing of Robert Bruce Edey
From the pages of the 29 May 2010 edition of the Calgary Herald comes news of the recent passing of Robert Bruce Edey. Robert was the last living child of Gwynneth Jean Kinsey and Wellington Bruce Edey.

Bruce passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on May 27, 2010 at the age of 82 years.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, June, in 1997. Bruce leaves to mourn his dear companion and caregiver, Lori Haracsi; his loving brother, Brian (Sharon); nephews: Mark (Gaby) and baby Sophia, Philip (Jen), Michael (Dasha) and Bud Cormier (Joan); nieces: Carolyn (Mark), Susan Andriuzzo and Sharon Burpo; and brother-in-law, Ken Harmon. Bruce also leaves June's loving family: Peggy Waldron (Ron), Dawn Samus (Chris), Abigail June Samus and Lynn Waldron. Bruce also leaves Lori's parents: Rita and Joe Haracsi and family; and many other extended family members and many many dear friends. Bruce was predeceased by his parents: Bruce and Gwen; stepmother, Daisy; brother, Jack; and sister, Joan. Lori and Bruce would like to thank Dr. John Schubert and Dr. David Mador for their many years of care and kindness. Bruce enlisted in the army as a boy soldier during WWII in 1944.
He served in Korea, Belgium, Germany as well as Canada, retiring in 1980. His last posting was as Senior Parachute Rigger with the Canadian Airborne Regiment in Edmonton, AB. Bruce was a great leader, outstanding soldier, loyal friend and a real gentleman. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. AIRBORNE!
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, AB on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Ken Walker officiating.
