Obituary of Alice Florence Kinsey (nee Jacobs)

The following obituary appeared in the 7 March 1966 edition of the Brandon (Manitoba) Sun.

Mrs. Alice Kinsey
Boissevain (Special) - Funeral service was held at Penticton, B.C. in the Anglican Church Feb. 23 for Mrs. Alice Kinsey, who died in Penticton Feb. 20, after a short illness. Following cremation, the ashes were forwarded to Boissevain where a memorial service was held in St. Mathew's Anglican Church, March 2 with Rev. J. J. Rogers officiating. Alice Florence Jacobs was born July 3, 1883 in London, England where she was educated. Coming to Canada in 1907, she went to Pilot Mound , and later that year moved to Boissevain. In 1908 in Boissevain, she married John Henry Wilson Kinsey. The couple resided in Boissevain until the death of Mr. Kinsey in 1946. Mrs. Kinsey remained in Boissevain until 1952 when she moved to Penticton where she had since resided. She was a member of the Anglican Church. Surviving are two daughters Mrs. A. M. C. Landers (Gwendolyn), Terrance, B.C. and Mrs. A. Nofield (Patricia), Portland, Ore; five sons, Albert, Boissevain; John, Winnipeg; Stephen, Ioco, B.C.; Herbert, Penticton and Gerald, Brandon; 29 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one daughter, Evelyn, in 1937, and by one son, Edmund, in 1949.
