Welcome to Lauder Road

Lauder Road forms the entryway to a small up-scale subdivision in the Edgar, Ontario.

The hamlet of Edgar is situated in Oro Township along the Old Barrie Road (Highway #11.) The subdivision lies on a farm once owned by the Lauder Family. It is believed that the Lauders immigrated from Kirkintilloch, Scotland in 1832. What is sure is that Walter Lauder Sr. was both a farmer and a woodworker. A few of his works still remain in the area and are a testament to his skill as a craftsman.

Also, remarkably, the original Lauder house still stands today in Edgar abet much altered. It is said that the original structure was made of local logs.
